Zandile Darko


Zandile Darko is a performer and theatre maker. She studied physical theatre at the London International School of Performing Arts (today arthaus.berlin) and holds an MFA in acting from Rose Bruford College in London (scholarship holder of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation) as well as a BA in cultural sciences from the Leuphana University Lüneburg.

She has been a performer with the award-winning transnational art project Hajusom in Hamburg and has performed in various productions at Kampnagel Hamburg, Münchner Kammerspiele, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Maxim Gorki Theater amongst others. Since 2009 she is part of Label Noir, an Afro-German performance collective of theatre and filmmakers in Berlin, and in 2019 became part of the Motion Capture Troupe in London, a group of professional physical performers. Zandile’s solo performance Imagination Office was part of Berlin Art Week 2019. She is currently undertaking practice-led research as part of Home of Performance Practices at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands.
