Wura-Natasha Ogunji

Wura-Natasha Ogunji is a visual artist and performer. Her works include drawings, videos and public performances. Her work is deeply inspired by the daily interactions and frequencies that occur in the city of Lagos, Nigeria, from the epic to the intimate. She currently resides in Lagos where she is founder/curator of the experimental art space The Treehouse.

Ogunji’s project will focus on bronze casting in the Nigerian city of Benin as she is interested in the rituals and choreographies which emerge from the process of metal casting and the physical actions and gestures which have been repeated over the generations. She will foreground the ongoing and unending connection to objects, actions, materiality and creativity located in these traditions.
